Join the BuildAbility team as the Administrative Assistant Intern.
Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in an administrative role? We are actively seeking Administrative Assistant Interns across several departments, including Independent Living Services, Behavior Day Services, Employment Services, and Community Day Services. Each intern will be placed within a specific department and will work closely with their assigned team to support day-to-day needs and contribute to overall success.


As the Administrative Assistant Intern, your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborate with the assigned department to support daily administrative operations and functions.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and organizing materials.
  • Maintain and organize digital and physical records in accordance with department procedures.
  • Coordinate calendars, meetings, and related materials, including scheduling, reminders, and logistics.
  • Track and update departmental data, projects, and tasks using internal systems.
  • Assist with drafting Individual Habilitation Service Plans and Individual Service Plans as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute updates on assigned projects and responsibilities.  
  • Engage in training and job-shadowing opportunities to build professional and administrative skills.
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned by department leadership.

Schedule:
  • Part-time
  • 20 hours/week

  • In-person
  • Sylmar, CA
Compensation:
  • Starting at $18.00 - $20.00/hour (depending on prior experience and qualifications)
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No prior office experience required; training will be provided. Prior office experience is a plus. 
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Clear criminal background check.

  • Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn. 
  • Tech-comfortable in using Microsoft Office Suite or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage tasks independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a team-oriented attitude.
